Introduction to rag rug virtual workshops online

Introduction to rag rugs  workshop £50

If you have ever fancied having a go at learning how to make a rag rug or want to get started again then this is the ideal workshop for you.
Together we will create a small piece of work to get you started which will enable you to create a piece that can be turned into a cushion/ a bag/ wall hanging or anything you choose. You are most welcome to start on a larger project if you wish to work on it on your own.

This  online workshop is suitable  adults and teenagers at  all levels of experience  (please note that you will need to have good hand dexterity and strength as there is a lot of twisting and pulling and scissor movements)

What to expect at one of my workshops

We will arrange a date for us to meet each other in my virtual workshop.
If you prefer to join in with other students I will be arranging group online workshops as well the choice is yours.
I like to keep my attendee numbers low to enable me to provide the support and advice where needed and so I limit my places to a maximum of 4 participants at this online workshop.

What will be provided?

I will send you a piece of a hessian, a selection of materials to experiment with, an American rag rug hook, homemade peg prodder and written instructions.

PLEASE NOTE: If you already have your own equipment and material I offer a tutorial and written instructions option for the reduced fee of £35.

To be able to take part you will need

  • A computer or tablet with a camera and microphone to enable you to go online, we will be using Zoom.for information about getting connected
  • You will need to provide your own fabric scissors/rotary cutters tools to cut the materials,  needles and thread.
  • If you have one an embroidery ring is also handy but not  necessary.
  • If you have your own fabric /material that you want to use as well that is most welcome
