Autumn Craft workshops 2018


I offer a range of workshops that introduce you to  using a hand made prodder made from a dolly peg (proggy) which is the traditional ways of creating rugs in the UK as well as using a hook (hooky) started overseas and now very popular in the U.K. A lovely craft  traditionally designed to create functional items from old materials.

We now use the craft to create many different items both functional and aesthetically pleasing,

Introduction to proddy and hooky rag rug techniques Friday 28th September 10am -2pm,£45 Venue  Hedge End Village Hall near Southampton

Half day taster sessions that will introduce you to  the basic techniques used to make a rag rug . This workshop will  enable you to create a small  item. You will learn how  to  select and prepare materials,   use the tools  and tension your work,  and how to finish it. These are the basics needed to then go and create a larger piece on your own.

All tools and materials are included . I will also be providing light refreshments, cake and fruit. I like to keep my attendee numbers low to enable me to provide support and advice where need and so the workshop participant number is limited to a maximum of  8 participants attending.

Please also bring an apron or wear clothing that you like working in.
