I have always had a passion for all things that are woven from crochet to peg loom weaving and willow. I love seeing what can be created with a imaginative mind http://www.play-scapes.com/play-art/playgrounds-by-artists/playground-crochet-by-toshiko-horiuchi/
I am really looking forward to tomorrow. As part of the Care Homes National open day where care homes accross the country will be inviting visitors through there doors. I have been invited to create a large rag rug picture to go on the wall at the Fair Haven Care Home in Southampton.
Residents, staff and visitors on the day will be contributing to the art work which once completed will be hung in the reception as a reminder and a welcome to visitors as they walk in the door.

One more adult workshop to complete this term ” creating rag rugs” on Saturday the 28th of July, a great activity for those who love textiles and reusing materials.I love the freedom of creating work using fabric as a paint pallet, once you get to grips with the techniques it is such a relaxing craft.
And just to let you know about the workshops that I will be running at the WDC in the autumn.
Starting with handcrafted fabric doorstop, followed by willow lanterns and quirky paper mache sculptures
I will also be offering more crochet classes and returning to lino block printing – creating cards.
