With the resurgence of an interest in traditional crafts are are starting a come back it is important that we keep these skills alive as material suppliers are funding it harder to keep going due to lack of support. with this thought in mind this workshop is available as a introduction to the art of basketry

This activity usually takes between 2 and 2. 1/2 hours

Types of groups catered for and maximum numbers

Maximum number of places on each workshop:

young people aged 11 - adult ....8 participants producing several items or 2 sessions of 8 participants producing one item each

children aged 8-10...... 5 participants producing several items or 2 sessions of 5 participants producing one item each                           

This activity is also ideal for a variety of environments including community group, schools.s and can be adapted for community events training and festivals.

Facilities /requirement

Tables and chairs or carpeted flooring with cushions with enough room to spread out , this is also a lovely activity to take outside in good weather

Please note that additional adult support may be required for children's groups and participants who require additional support, this is negotiable depending on group size, requirements and suitability of topic

Attendance numbers can be increased if appropriate and when a additional assistant/s are engaged (in this case a additional charge will be made)
